How do you think Henry's introduction of Dinner to the family was confusing and hurtful for Fanny?  Do you think Henry intended to make Fanny feel this way?

What does the title of the book, Protecting Marie, tell you about Fanny?

Pre-Reading Post

Write one "I wonder" statement you have about your book.  After you have written your statement, predict when you think you will find the answer to your wondering.  Here is an example from the book Dragon in the Sock Drawer:

"I wonder if Jesse and Daisy will get to keep Emmy without getting caught."

I predict this will happen in the middle of the book (the part when they may get caught) and the end the book will say if they are able to keep her or not.
